Dokumentindhold

Thank you for the letter and the contract.
The gouache were all shipped by Nicolaus on Friday
by now I trust you have them. My wife has
had a very serious operation and I have been
hard put to get everything in running order.
I'm a little late in nearly everything and some
things I just don't seem to be able to accomplish
such as the photo for the catalogue - there just
wasn't time but Nicolaus assured me it could
be done in Copenhagen which relieved me
of that burden, also the cost of same would
be covered by the 30000 franc check which
will be mailed from The First National City Bank
of New York
(Paris Branch) to-day. You should
have it the 23rd or 24th of Sept. I do hope the
painting meet with your approval and that
the exhibition with be a successful and profitable
one for us.

Depending on my wife's post-operative
state - I'm very uncertain as to my being
able to come to Copenhagen. I may surprise
you one day but will let you know if
and when I can come. Thank you very
much for inviting me and for your
troubles. Good luck -
Warm Regards

P.S. Nicolaus is a very sympathic
fellow. We have something of a language
barrier but have managed to work out a
strange "mélange" that makes it possible
to communicate.
