Dear Mr. Køpcke.
With your letter in
hand, I went to the
douane and got my work
out. Why there were 17
pictures marked on my
receipt will remain simply
unexplained. Since you say
there were 16, I believe
you, and the douane too.
The money for M.
Nicolaus has been waiting
for him for 3 weeks now.
If he has not come, it

is his affaire. I
wrote him twice to come & collect
it.
I have had very many
exhibitions. And can
say, like yourself, that
never was there any
fuss. Because the organization
was good and the
information exact.
It was M. Nicolaus
business to tell me about
prices. He positively said
they were low .

My complaints were
all legitimate. You can
not call them "menaces".
Maybe you will do
better (or M. Nicolaus)
simply to learn from
your mistakes for the
future. If you don't
like express letters
- why - just keep better
order.
My husband was
a painter too... and
my brother in law runs

a gallery too...
I also wish you
very good work.
Pity for all this
trouble.
